Thanks for setting this up and sharing the history of your journey. You and Melanie are inspiring warriors in the long fight toward justice. I'm proud to join the team!
I tried to sing " My vote my voice my right" at the Juneteenth celebration for the league of women voters in Frederick, MD. Somewhere in the bowels of my cell phone there is a video of it. I butchered it, but my heart was in the right place!
Hi Roy, I just subscribed to your Substack. Saw you at UUCSC pre-Covid. Pro-democracy music is way too scarce, considering today’s situation. I am trying to do something about it. Would like to provoke big name artists into action. Get in with grass roots progressives. Get the movement moving. Would like to discuss and team with you. Here’s my election year song. https://youtu.be/M7w22EiUfIM?si=xuDi_sXxsHStmUeI
Hi Melanie, hi Roy! Thanks so much for giving us a positive place to focus our energies. Finally got a chance to watch the live redux from Monday. Absolutely loved the collab w/Honest Abe, and I kept hearing it as a full choral arrangement with solos--think the folk version of Make Our Garden Grow. Hope that can happen someday. In the meantime, really looking forward to the new albums and all the "FUN" (God bless Molly Ivins, resting in power as we speak).
Just testing to make sure I did the subscribe thingy right. Being able to post is a yes? Right?
Um...content...wow, this is gong to be so cool, said the fangirl. Er, fangranny,
You did the right thing, Susan. Welcome!
Singing to Defend Democracy is easy. Laughing at the current state of affairs? Not so much.
did I subscribe successfully?
Yes, you did, Karen. Glad you're here.
I am diving into the deep Blue sea!
Well, hold your breath, Molly,
It's the only way I could turn any bluer.
It's always bluest before the swoon...

Thank you, Ann. Proud to have you ON the team.

Great first post. Just subscribed. This is a great new chapter in the "Zimmerby" (your new power-couple moniker) tale. ;-)
