Thank you for this posting. If we need to grieve, then we should. And then get on with working for a healthy and just future.

Thanks for everything you do. It is a painful time watching the very evenly split vote (which when you account for the fact that so many in this country - regardless of eggs were FREE - would never vote for a black women to run the country and the free world) is impressive. However control is control and watching these wholly unfit human beings on the edge of destroying so much progress and growth is soul sucking.

I hope you’ll have time to do a livestream sometime soon. I’ve found being in the livestream communities of my musician friends to be a balm and pathway towards healing.

I'm thinking of Abigail's pep-talk in "1776", when she reminds John:

"Have you forgotten what you used to say to me? I haven't. 'Commitment, Abby. Commitment! There are only two creatures of value on the face of this earth: those with a commitment, and those who require the commitment of others.'" Thank you, as always, for the inspiration of your commitment.

Thanks so much, Roy and Melanie, for this post. I'm still at a loss for words, unable to understand why so many people voted the way they did. I find myself rereading your blog again and again and taking some comfort in the fact that there are still people standing up and fighting for what is right and just. The impact of a second trump term is a frightening prospect, both for America and the world. I also hope that you will do a livestream show soon or even a Q&A.
